Panavision Cinematography Lab

Panavision Cinematography Lab

Cinematography, in its most basic form, is the control of lighting and camera placement in shooting film or video. At once art and science, cinematography is one of the most critical elements in filmmaking, and our Panavision Cinematography Lab is one of the most important labs that students will work in.

Dedicated to one of the biggest names in the movie business, the Panavision Cinematography Lab is a small soundstage with a self-leveled concrete floor. Blackout curtains enclose the interior of the room, and a full lighting grid hangs from the ceiling, allowing for easy light placement and manipulation. Students use this lab to practice and explore a variety of lighting and camera techniques.
