In 1989, Sony purchased Columbia Pictures Entertainment, Inc. from the Coca-Cola Company for $3.4 billion and promptly formed Sony Pictures Entertainment. Currently located in Culver City, CA, Sony Pictures now owns some of the biggest films and television shows in history, including the Spider-Man movies and the Seinfeld television series.
