Congrats to our 17 Alumni who worked on 6 productions that won 27 awards.

Many of our alumni from The Los Angeles Film School worked on Emmy-winning shows. A special shout-out to our 2004 Recording School alumnus, Jordan Wilby, who won the Emmy for Outstanding Editing for a Comedy or Drama (One Hour) for Stranger Things. Jordan won the Emmy at The Creative Arts Emmy Ceremony, which preceded Monday night’s Primetime Emmy Awards. He won the same award last year for the first season of Stranger Things.

Since 1949, the Emmys have celebrated television’s top talent by recognizing creators, writers, actors and directors at their craft. This year, the 70th Annual Emmy Awards celebrated the most diverse group of nominees in Emmy history. Sandra Oh was the first woman of Asian descent to be nominated for an Emmy (she lost to Claire Foy of The Crown). RuPaul from RuPaul’s Drag Race won for Outstanding Reality-Competition. And the Television Academy crowned Regina King as Lead Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie for her role in Seven Seconds.

Overall, the Emmys were tame. Co-hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che threw in their fair share of jabs at the current state of Hollywood. The evening’s highlights included an on-stage proposal that shocked viewers into a standing ovation and Jeff Daniels thanking his horse from Godless. The major wins of the night went to The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel with five total Emmy wins, and Game of Thrones walked away with the final award of the night for Outstanding Drama Series.
