The Path to Filmmaking with Military Veteran and LAFS Alumna Kiarra Graves

From enlisting in the military to enrolling in film school, Kiarra Graves’ journey to The Los Angeles Film School is unique. After spending four years in the U.S. Navy, Kiarra decided to pursue filmmaking full time. She quickly established herself in the independent film scene as a writer, producer and director.

In 2016, Kiarra co-wrote her first independent feature film, Suicide Roadtrip, starring Steve-O and Eli Goree. She then went on to associate produce two additional films a year after her writing debut. Kiarra directed her first indie feature in 2018, in addition to producing a film with the cast from LA Web Series on YouTube.
