LAFS Alumnus Assisted Writer/Director, Christopher McQuarrie, on Mission: Impossible – Fallout.

A LAFS Alumnus landed what most would consider a dream job.

Finally, the summer action movie franchise we’ve all been waiting for—Mission: Impossible – Fallout, opens in theaters on Thursday, July 27. This is the sixth installment of the Mission: Impossible series and the second written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie. McQuarrie first joined the franchise for Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015) as the writer/director. You might recognize McQuarrie from his Academy Award-winning screenplay, The Usual Suspects (1995). He’s also worked on a number of films such as Edge of Tomorrow (2014) and The Mummy (2017)—also with Tom Cruise.

One of our very own LAFS alumnus, Mike Etherington, assisted Christopher McQuarrie on Mission: Impossible – Fallout. Prior to working with McQuarrie, Etherington produced a number of indie short films. Mission: Impossible – Fallout is Etherington’s first major motion picture credit, and we are excited to celebrate and share his industry-related work. You can find Etherington’s full credit list on IMDb.

About the movie:

“Your mission, should you choose to accept it…”

Ethan Hunt is back and ready to take on his next impossible mission. This time Hunt and the Impossible Mission Force (IMF) join CIA assassin, August Walker, to stop a group of terrorists, known as the Apostles, and their planned terrorist attacks on the holiest cities. Except something goes terribly wrong, and Hunt is once again forced to take matters into his own hands.
