Mental Health Resources for College Students

Mental Health Awareness

Students today have more stressors with rigorous academic schedules, full-time job requirements and the personal obligations of day-to-day life. This can often lead to burnout and take a toll on a student’s overall well-being. At The L.A. Film School, we want to make sure all students have easy access to mental health resources they may need at any point. Being an advocate for yourself and knowing where to turn to for help is an important first step toward better mental well-being.

Good living conditions (i.e. housing, employment, access to education) are fundamental to well-being. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), individuals with high levels of well-being are more productive at work and school and are more likely to contribute to their communities. Our goal is to provide students with the necessary mental health resources and support to foster a positive school environment at The L.A. Film School.

Critical Mental Health Resources

Two important numbers to be aware of are the National Suicide Prevention Line 1-800-273-TALK and the Veterans Crisis Line 1-800-273-8255 (and press 1).

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline has a resource page with support groups and therapy locators. Here you can find specific resources for you or a loved one who is in need of help. Find a Therapist/Support Group.

Student Success at The L.A. Film School

We will honor the unique nature and interests of each campus and online student by creating a diverse culture, one that provides clarity, transparency and a familial atmosphere.
