2019 Oscar Nominations are here! Eight LAFS Alumni worked on six films earning 26 Oscar nominations

Oh, the Oscars. Hollywood’s Super Bowl. It’s an unforgettable night for so many reasons. Every year we wait with bated breath for Nomination Day (Ahem, we’re a film school—in Hollywood). That day arrived Tuesday morning on January 22, with hosts Kumail Nanjiani and Tracee Ellis Ross revealing the Oscar nominations from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.

Four out of the eight alumni on our list worked on Oscar-nominated films in the Best Picture category (BlacKkKlansman and Black Panther). Their job titles on set included camera and crew, which we all recognize are vital to the success of any production. Bravo! LAFS alumnus Brandon Trost was the DP on Can You Ever Forgive Me?, which picked up three Oscar nominations, including Lead Actress for Melissa McCarthy.

This is the 91st Academy Awards and we’re honored to announce the LAFS alumni who made their mark in entertainment. The Oscars air on Sunday, February 24 at 5 p.m. PST. If you’re an alumnus of The Los Angeles Film School, who worked on an Oscar-nominated production, we want to hear from you!

Without further ado…
