The L.A. Recording School makes Billboard’s 2018 Top Music Business Schools

Billboard 2018

Move over Hot 100, The Los Angeles Film School (LAFS) and The Los Angeles Recording School (LARS) have spots on one of Billboard’s top music business school charts

In a recent feature, Billboard released 17 of the Nation’s top music schools featuring notable and quirky characteristics of each one. Both LAFS and LARS are honored to be listed as one of Billboard’s top music business schools in 2018.

The write-up highlighted a few of the degree programs and unique courses currently offered at LAFS and LARS. In particular, the music and entertainment business programs allow students to gain analytical and practical skills in the field. It also mentioned one of LARS famous alumnus, Andrés Borda, who won a Latin Grammy Award in 2015 for record of the year as the producer of Natalia Lafourcade’s “Hasta la Raiz.”

Billboard recognized the historical significance of the building that now houses students, faculty and staff. That’s right, the building was home to the historic RCA studios, then used as a recording studio for famous artists such as Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones and The Grateful Dead. Now, students are steps away from the heavy hitters in the film, music and entertainment industries as the building is located on Sunset Blvd in the heart of Hollywood.
