Jason Priestley Discusses Directing Cas & Dylan

On Thursday, April 16th, The Los Angeles Film School hosted a screening of Cas & Dylan. Following the screening, Jeff Goldsmith hosted a Q&A with Jason Priestley, the director of the project, where they discussed how his team overcame production difficulties to bring the film to life.

“I knew that Tatiana Muslany was perfect for the role. She has such great energy.”

Jason Priestley discussed the young actress and her exceptional presence on-screen, and chemistry with co-star Richard Dreyfuss.

“The script treated the audience with respect.”

Elaborating on the quality of the script, Jason praised his team for arriving at a script that didn’t force-feed information or cliches into the audience.

“Rehearsal is extremely important. Richard Dreyfuss came exceptionally prepared.”

Jason shed light on Richard’s poise and readiness on set, and talked about the larger vision of his film, Cas & Dylan.

“Art has to win.”

Talking further about the film, Jason regarded how he deals with production setbacks.

“The show must go on.”
