Create Your Future in Entertainment Business
Do you want to continue your education? Our completion program will expand on your existing knowledge and allow you to explore the business side of the entertainment industry. By getting your Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Business, you will learn to market yourself and your work, manage the day-to-day operations of a business and refine your business acumen.
If you already have your associate degree, you can enroll in the completion program and get a Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Business in just 18 months.
- Our Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Business Degree is 60 credit hours and 18 months in length. Students must have their associate degree to enroll in the completer program.
- Each class is studied exclusively during a four-week period allowing students to focus on one particular subject at a time.
- Take courses on campus and online. This hybrid degree format is designed to provide the benefits of both face-to-face and online learning formats.
Go behind the scenes of show business. This course covers general marketing concepts as they relate to the nuances of the entertainment business field. Students construct strategic plans for media products and are introduced to entertainment licensing concepts, promotional avenues and digital marketing. In addition, this course strengthens students’ understanding of analytical tools and strategic analysis of consumer behavior.
Learn the fine print of dealmaking in Hollywood. This course provides students with an examination of trade secrets, trademarks, patents and copyrights in connection with methods of protecting creative works. Throughout the course, students explore acquisitions, licensing and transfer of rights as they relate to music, film, animation, show production and other interactive digital media. Other topics covered in this course include independent contractors and work-for-hire employees within the entertainment business.
Leadership and Organizational Behavior
Discover the essential characteristics of leadership and learn how to inspire others into action. This course teaches students to identify their personal strengths and weaknesses through self-assessment. This course examines leadership as it relates to the entertainment industry, and provides strategies for effective decision making and team building. Upon completion of this course, students will understand the difficulties and compromises necessary to move projects forward as a collective team.
