Go behind the scenes of show business. This course covers general marketing concepts as they relate to the nuances of the entertainment business field. Students construct strategic plans for media products and are introduced to entertainment licensing concepts, promotional avenues and digital marketing. In addition, this course strengthens students’ understanding of analytical tools and strategic analysis of consumer behavior.
Art of the Pitch
Learning to communicate clearly and persuasively is critical for success in the entertainment industry. This course explores the most effective methods to present a story or concept to a target audience. Students learn how to encapsulate their ideas into saleable concepts and engage with stakeholders to bring ideas to fruition. Through a series of hands-on exercises, students will learn to communicate with confidence, both verbally and non-verbally, and to overcome common communication pitfalls.
Brand Development
Develop a brand from the ground up. This course covers the two main aspects of building a strong presence in the business and consumer market: storytelling and brand development. In this course, students learn how to implement brand development strategies that help companies become iconic within their industry. Students also learn how to use storytelling principles to strengthen a client’s business and deliver a superior customer experience.
