On December 13th, The Los Angeles Film School’s Career Development Department, in collaboration with the school’s live sound instructor, Derek Olds, put together and hosted an employer recruiting event at the Ivar Theater. This event featured PSAV, a renowned live event audiovisual company that partners with high-end hotel properties across the country, such as Marriott and Four Seasons. After a short presentation consisting of PSAV representatives explaining what the company does, answering student questions, and discussing what the hiring team looks for in future contractors/employees, all 16 well-dressed student attendees were granted interviews that same afternoon for upcoming paid opportunities with PSAV’s various hotel properties. By event’s end, 12 of those 16 students were either scheduled for second interviews or outright offered a paid position.
The recruiting event was a tremendous success, as it demonstrated the quality and professionalism of The Los Angeles Film School’s students to PSAV, while offering precious industry networking and job opportunities to some of our school’s brightest individuals.
