Event Recap: At The Devil’s Door

On August 27th, The Los Angeles Film School hosted a screening of At The Devil’s Door followed by a Q&A with Jeff Goldsmith and Director Nicholas McCarthy. During the interview, Nicholas provided insights about his filmmaking process.

“I try to write around 5 pages per day.”

Nicholas elaborated about his process of crewing up for the production

“I needed my crew from The Pact to make At The Devil’s Door happen.”

Regarding his choice to shoot in a digital format using the Arri Alexa, Nicholas said

“The Alexa is simply faster to shoot with than film.”

Jeff Goldsmith asked Nicholas about his writing process as well, and he responded

“I try to write around 5 pages per day.”
