Screening of Steve Jobs and Q&A with Aaron Sorkin

You’ve seen The Social Network, and now the writer behind that recent biopic has created a star vehicle for Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslett with Steve Jobs

On November 3rd, 2015, The Los Angeles Film School and Jeff Goldsmith hosted a screening of Steve Jobs, followed by a Q&A with Oscar-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin. During their conversation, Sorkin discussed his writing style, and his origins as a young writer in Hollywood.

On getting into the mood to write,

“Get in a good mood. Be happy.”

Here is Aaron’s writing process, in a nutshell,

“Most of the time, my writing process consists of thinking.”

Regarding Sorkin’s pursuit for telling compelling stories,

“Like a life preserver, I want to cling to intention and obstacle.”

On writing realistic characters,

“You have to find something about your character that is like yourself.”

On finding a screenwriting book to aid in the craft,

“A good screenwriting book shouldn’t be like a blueprint.”

We would like to thank Jeff Goldsmith, Aaron Sorkin, and the audience for attending this screening and Q&A of Steve Jobs!
