MOFILM Castrol GTX Film Contest

Attention, students! MOFILM has launched a new film contest with Castrol GTX Magnatec!

Most people know enough about car oil to know it’s important to change it regularly, but they don’t really know how it works. Car oil usually only starts to fully protect your engine after 20 minutes of the car being fired up, exposing drivers to more engine damage when their car is first on the move. Castrol GTX Magnatec is different; it’s designed to cling to your engine and provide instant protection from the get go, without the need to worry about engine issues.
A lot can go wrong in 20 minutes… Make a series of humorous films that shows what can happen when a Dad shortcuts his dad duties and downplays or neglects the need for protection. He thinks: meh, it’s only 20 minutes, what could happen? But things escalate quickly and, with the help of a time slice (’20 minutes later…’), we see how quickly things can go wrong in 20 min without protection.

Do you think you’ve got the right stuff?

Do you have experience in short narrative and/or web series filmmaking? A great idea or story to tell? Then download the Castrol GTX brief and read it carefully. We will be selecting filmmakers based on the strength of the idea and their ability to produce the film. Show us why it should be you!
If your treatment is selected you’ll receive a $40k commission (including a $5k directors fee) to bring your series to life.
Whilst this series is open to any filmmaker around the world, the series is for an American audience and as such, your series must use American talent.
