If 2020 has brought us anything, it’s a roller coaster of emotions. Not that we need more scares (of a serious nature) this year, but we present you with our Halloween Horror virtual events recap! Hats off to everyone who participated. The level of creativity and comradery in our school’s community is something that makes our college unique. We hope you enjoyed the Halloween virtual events this year. Remember to check your @lafilm.edu email address for event updates every week!

Is Ivar Theatre haunted? Our team investigates.

There has been a history of haunted happenings at Ivar since it opened in February of 1951. We take you inside the Ivar and hear staff accounts of paranormal activity at the historical LA theatre! Find out more about Ivar Theatre’s Hollywood history.

Film Alumnus and Staff Member Marco Andreini braves the basement at Ivar to detect paranormal activity.

Student Halloween Costume Contest

Our Annual Halloween Costume Contest is a huge hit every year. We didn’t want to miss out on the fun, so we took to a virtual Halloween setting to judge the best costumes of 2020. Thank you to everyone who entered and participated in our virtual Halloween event!

And the winners are…

  • FIRST place winner went to online Digital Filmmaking student Caitlin for their Darth Vader costume.
  • SECOND place went to Music Production Student Tierra for their IT costume.
  • THIRD place went to online Digital Filmmaking student Steven for their Freddy Kruger costume.

Congratulations, students!
