GIs of Comedy
We are honored to have an evening of comedy and entertainment by the GIs of Comedy.
The GIs of Comedy is a Comedic Troupe of Troops created in 2010 by comedian, writer, and US Army combat Veteran Thom Tran. A former US Army Staff Sergeant, Tran was medically separated after being wounded during a combat deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Tran put the GIs of Comedy together to bring the healing power of comedy to his brothers and sisters in arms that continue to serve.
The tour also includes original member Jose Sarduy, PJ Walsh and Benari Poulten. Sarduy is a US Air Force Reserve Major and flight instructor and hosts the television show “Stand Up & Deliver.” Walsh is a Navy veteran and long-time touring comedian who has toured with Larry the Cable Guy and the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. Poulten is currently serving as a Master Sergeant in the US Army Reserve and is also a writer and sketch comedy performer.
The GIs of Comedy partnered with the Special Operations Warriors Foundation in 2012 and in 2013 donated or had donated in their name over $10,000 to the charity which raises college scholarship funds for the children & families of Special Operations Personnel who have been killed in the line of duty. The group raises funds to benefit troops by selling merchandise through their website and at live shows.
