Since graduating in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Animation from The L.A. Film School, Gary Lopez has steadily built an impressive career in visual effects and digital compositing. His credits include blockbusters like Furious 7, The Do‑Over, Man of Steel, The Lego Movie, The Smurfs 2, and The Amazing Spider‑Man 2. On television, he contributed as a digital compositor on series such as Marco Polo, Limitless, Fargo, and Hawaii Five‑0.

Gary Lopez joined us back on campus for our Animation Smash panel, where he shared his knowledge with our students about working in the animation field. During Animation Smash, he discussed his compositing job on the Oscar-winning film Fences starring Denzel Washington and Viola Davis. Gary also contributed to the reimagined Ghostbusters movie starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. As a professional compositor, Gary continues to leave his mark on some of the most recognizable movies and TV series in entertainment.
