“Muppets Most Wanted”: Advanced Screening and Q&A with Filmmakers

On March 21, The Los Angeles Film School and Jeff Goldsmith hosted an advanced screening of the highly-anticipated Disney film, Muppets Most Wanted.

The movie, which follows Kermit, Miss Piggy and the rest of the crew through a chaotic and entertaining tour of Europe, had the sold-out Main Theater erupting in laughter.

Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey and Ty Burrell star as the Muppets’ comedic human counterparts, and other celebrities like Lady Gaga, Christoph Waltz and Usher also make appearances throughout the two-hour adventure.

Following the screening, the audience got a rare opportunity to hear from filmmakers Nicholas Stoller (co-Writer) and James Bobin (co-Writer/Director ) about the process of bringing this sequel to life.

“This film had more going on than the first [The Muppets, 2011]. The gang is singing, dancing, dealing with an international criminal. It’s an action-comedy-musical,” Bobin said of Muppets Most Wanted elaborate plot.

The pair went on to discuss the process of casting big-name cameos in the film: “We’re lucky,” Stoller explained, “People really do love The Muppets. We just asked, and they said yes.”

Muppets Most Wanted hits theaters tomorrow, March 21st.
