Booksmart Olivia Wilde

The new movie Booksmart is a high-school teenager’s dream

We’d like to recognize two of our alumnae who worked on the movie Booksmart, which hits theaters nationwide Memorial Day weekend. Film alums Katie Byron and Rachael Ferrara worked as production designer and set decorator, respectively.

This is actress Olivia Wilde’s directorial debut and she brings a refreshing—albeit raunchy—take on your typical, light-hearted teen comedy. Booksmart starring Beanie Feldstein and Kaitlyn Dever is a high-school comedy about two best friends who throw caution to the wind and spend a wild night in search of the sickest senior party the night before graduation. The movie focuses on female friendship, teenage angst and romantic relationships that never quite pan out how you’d predict.
