This session will break down the who, what, where, and why of PR—who needs a publicist, what a publicist actually does, where PR fits in today’s industry, and why strategic communication is essential for success. Students and graduates will gain a clear understanding of what it takes to build a career in publicity, including core skills, relationship‑building, and pathways into the field.

Welcome to The Plug: a networking event helping students find “their plug,” someone who has the skills, access, or knowledge they need for their projects. All programs are invited!
Bring your projects, find the crew you need, and start collaborating in real time. Instead of traditional critique, the focus will be on action. After each presentation, students will be invited to collaborate with their “plug” and immediately take the next step. No awkward networking — just real connections and action. Oh, and there's free food too!
