Oscar-winning production mixer Phillip Bladh went to The Los Angeles Recording School, a division of The L.A. Film School in 2008. Now, in 2021 Phillip has won his first Oscar for his production mixing work on Sound of Metal starring Riz Ahmed.
The pandemic hasn’t seemed to slow LAFS alumnus Flying Lotus down. Not only will his music be featured on the soundtrack of Netflix’s new anime series Yasuke out Thursday, April 29, but he’s also collaborating with Pitchfork on a new Sunday event series. Flying Lotus will DJ Lord Jones Sunday Bath Sessions, which takes place Sunday, May 2, at 8 p.m. EST.

You may recognize some or even all the screenwriters including Will Berson, Ramin Bahrani, Peter Baynham, Jena Friedman, Christopher Hampton, Ant Hines, Kenneth Lucas, Keith Lucas, Darius Marder, Abraham Marder, Kemp Powers, Aaron Sorkin, Chloé Zhao and Florian Zeller.

The L.A. Film School hosted a special Barrier Breakers virtual event focused on women in digital media.
