Credits to Be Proud Of: LAFS & LARS Alumni on Michael, Project Hail Mary, HBO’s Rooster & More

From a wide theatrical release to Marvel’s biggest Disney+ debut to a BAFTA Game Award win, alumni from The L.A. Film School & The L.A. Recording School continue to show up in the credits of the industry’s most visible work. Here’s a look at what’s been making us proud lately.
On Screen
The theatrical release of Michael (April 27) features two LAFS alumni in production roles. Brad Salo (Film, 2011) served as Assistant Property Master for additional photography, a credit that reflects the kind of trusted, hands-on responsibility that comes with years of on-set experience. Sophia Ochoa (Film, 2013) worked as Key Assistant Location Manager, a role that sits at the intersection of logistics, creative vision, and community relationships.
Marcus Farrell (Film, 2009) is making his presence felt across the Marvel universe as a Visual Effects Assistant on two major productions: Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, which premiered March 25, and The Punisher: One Last Kill, now streaming on Disney+. That’s two high-profile credits in the same release window, a reflection of the kind of work Farrell has built his career around.
HBO’s Rooster, which debuted March 11, features direction from Spotlight Academy member Oz Rodriguez (Film, 2003), who helmed two episodes of the series. No stranger to premium television, Rodriguez has built a directing career that spans some of the most recognizable titles in the streaming era and Rooster is the latest addition to an already impressive body of work.
In Sound
Jon Greasley (Audio Production, 2011) is having a landmark year. He served as Sound Effects Editor on the highly anticipated adaptation of Project Hail Mary and has just been named a 2026 Golden Reel Award winner for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing – Non-theatrical Feature for The Gorge. The Golden Reel Award, presented by the Motion Picture Sound Editors, is one of the most prestigious recognitions in the sound community. It’s a tremendous achievement and a well-deserved one.
In Games
Ranger Norton (Audio Production, 2024) took home a BAFTA Game Award for Dispatch in the Achievement in Audio category, where he served as Senior Sound Designer. Winning a BAFTA Game Award is an extraordinary accomplishment at any stage of a career, and Norton’s recognition is a meaningful moment for the LARS community.
If you’re an alumnus working on something you’d like to share, we’d love to hear from you.
