A Snapshot of Our Year at The Los Angeles Film School in 2022
As we look forward to the New Year, we reflect on the many milestones we’ve met with the return to in-person instruction. Our students’ resiliency and dedication to their education didn’t waiver as we transitioned back to campus at the beginning of the year. The school hallways felt more vibrant and full in 2022 as students continued their studies in an in-person setting among their peers and instructors. Our online student community also expanded and they found new ways of connecting through online platforms such as Discord and Twitch. We are so proud of the tremendous work and commitment of our wonderful school community. From elite academic rankings to our students and graduates contributing their talents to the industry, these are the highlights over the past year.

TheWrap’s Top 50 Film Schools…We Made It!
The Los Angeles Film School is honored to be named in TheWrap’s top film schools list for 2022. This is the sixth year in a row that the film program has been ranked among elite film schools across the country. TheWrap compiles the rankings each year through collected data points on everything from class size to student body diversity to scholarships and networking opportunities.
We Made Billboard’s Top Music Business Schools List for 2022
The ranking showcases the range of degrees offered and our impressive campus facilities, which feature professional recording studios and a historic theatre that doubles as a live-sound classroom. Billboard also recognizes the amazing talent The Los Angeles Film School has hosted on campus including Post Malone, Snoop Dogg and Kehlani, as a factor in the listing. Our School Voted “Best For Vets” by Military Times
We are proud to be included in this ranking of military-friendly colleges! This year’s Best for Vets: College survey includes more than 300 schools that serve military students—whether active-duty, veterans or families and dependents of service members. The military-friendly college ranking is a testament to our dedicated military benefits department and the student advisors who help our veteran and active-duty students throughout their time in school.

Top 30 Film Schools Ranked by Variety Magazine
The L.A. Film School is honored to join the ranks of the top 30 film schools in the U.S. for 2022. The film program has held its spot in Variety Magazine with various accolades since 2015, which recognize the students and faculty at The L.A. Film School. This year’s Variety list highlights the nation’s top-ranked, competitive degrees in all areas of filmmaking.

The Big Winners at the 94th Annual Oscars
The Los Angeles Film School alumni worked on projects that won across five productions totaling 38 nominations and 10 wins. This is an outstanding achievement for the alumni community and a testament to the hard work and dedication of each individual alum.

A Night Celebrating Golden Thesis Film Projects in Hollywood
The first annual Golden Thesis Awards Ceremony is an alumni and student showcase of 2020-2022 thesis and original short films with a writer, producer, director, cast or theme featuring a diverse voice. This includes creatives of all backgrounds, including ethnicity, culture, gender identity and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
