Cynthia Hernandezgarcia
The Los Angeles Film School alum Cynthia Hernandezgarcia has held roles at Dreamworks Entertainment, DreamEast Pictures, Netflix, Nickelodeon, and Splash Entertainment.
The animation program graduate got her start as an intern at the Chinese film studio, DreamEast Pictures, in 2017, just a few months after graduating.
Cynthia would go from intern to production assistant to production coordinator at DreamEast, all in less than two years.
In these roles, she continued to showcase the skills she had learned at The L.A. Film School and her internship– assisting in all areas of the studio from design to storyboarding and post-production. She also served as a liaison between the artists and production– breaking down scripts for the artists’ assignments, communicating priorities, and relaying notes– all while managing project timelines.
Most recently, the animation professional has contributed to the continued success of Nickelodeon, the storied studio that has played a role at various stages of our lives, bringing many of our childhood favorites to screens across the world, including: Blue’s Clues, Dora the Explorer, Rugrats, SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Monster High–shows that are all still watched today!
Coincidentally enough, some of these Nickelodeon shows were actually conceived and produced at The Los Angeles Film School’s location, which previously served as the home to the Klasky-Csupo animation studios. Klasky-Csupo is the creative and production team behind the Rugrats animated series and feature films, as well as Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, The Wild Thornberrys, and early seasons of The Simpsons. Caricatures of characters from these animated series can still be spotted on the school’s exterior, serving as a tribute to the creativity that has taken place on our campus.
During her time at Nickelodeon, Cynthia worked her way from production coordinator to production manager, helping to usher in the next generation of animated projects for the studio, including: The Casagrandes, The Mighty Ones, and Fairly Odd Parents: A New Wish.
In 2025, she leaned on her past international expertise to contribute to Nickelodeon’s Max & the Midknights episode, “Welcome to Byjovia,” which was showcased at that year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France.
Cynthia has also shared her talents with Netflix for their light-hearted animated sports feature, The Soccer Football Movie, serving as production manager for the comedy starring Weird “Al” Yankovic.
In her spare time, she loves giving back to her community and has volunteered with both The Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County and Kids Reading to Succeed.
