Film Schedule – April 8th, 2016
The Dead Room
When a terrified family flees a desolate southern New Zealand farmhouse, two cynical scientists and a young psychic are sent to investigate their claims of a haunting. There they encounter a powerful spirit that will protect the house’s secrets at all costs.
Memoria
A teenager looks for acceptance among rebellious friends. When he is unable to cope with the chaos and apathy of the world, he retreats inside his mind and discovers that it is as cruel as the world he left behind.
I Am Belfast
A visual, poetic depiction of Belfast and its citizens, told with love and passion of someone, who has left the city many years ago but is still fascinated by it. Themes brought up in the film range from the landscapes surrounding the city, its changing architecture and social structure to the political and personal repercussions of the Northern Irish conflict.
Louder than Bombs
The fractious family of a father and his two sons confront their different feelings and memories of their deceased wife and mother, a famed war photographer.
Temps
The comedy follows Jefferson (Rosenmeyer), a ski-bum temp worker, whose singular joy comes from an annual excursion to the slopes with fellow slacker Curtis (Ewing). But when Jefferson falls for Stephanie (Shaw), an ambitious go-getter, he is forced to re-evaluate his priorities.
The Boss
A titan of industry is sent to prison after she’s caught for insider trading. When she emerges ready to rebrand herself as America’s latest sweetheart, not everyone she screwed over is so quick to forgive and forget.
Demolition
As an investment banker struggles after losing his wife in a tragic car crash, his increasingly confessional series of letters to a vending machine company catch the attention of a customer service rep with whom he forms an unlikely connection.
Neon Bull
Iremar works at the “Vaquejadas”, a rodeo in the North East of Brazil where two men on horseback try bring down a bull by grabbing its tail. It’s dusty and back-breaking work, but Iremar is a natural vaqueiro feeding, prepping and taking care of the bulls. Home is the truck used to transport the animals from show to show which he shares with his coworkers; Galega, an exotic dancer, truck driver and mother to her spirited and cheeky daughter Cacá, and Zé, his rotund compadre in the bull pen. Together they form a makeshift but close-knit family.
