Learning From Home as an
L.A. Film School Student

Although this season of challenge brings with it unanswered questions on timelines for return, it has also brought us into a level of new collaboration and creativity within our community. As a student of The Los Angeles Film School, here are some virtual resources and events for you to utilize while learning from home.

Virtual Student Events

We’ve moved our campus events to a virtual setting! Rewatch all the industry panels, alumni interviews and student events here.

Diverse Voices in Entertainment

2020 has been a monumental year for the Black Lives Matter movement. We recognize the challenges and celebrate our diverse student and alumni population and recognize all of the important contributions they’ve made in entertainment. Find more stories and interviews that represent our diversity.

Community Support Resources During COVID

This is a difficult time for so many people and industries. A little help goes a long way, and we are here to share support during this pandemic. We hope you can find clarity in the small wins that guide us through our new daily lives. Find our more here.

New Online Library Catalog

The Los Angeles Film School Library has databases to help you find the research you need in a hurry. Introducing the Koha Open Public Access Catalog (OPAC), a new Library catalog! Students can browse through the collection easily and search by item type or refine their search. Find more information about Koha here.

Virtual FAME WEEK and Spotlight Awards

Our biggest event of the year is going VIRTUAL. Starting with FAME Week and ending with the 2020 Spotlight Awards Ceremony. This is your all-access pass to our virtual events from Monday, August 31 through Thursday, September 3. You won’t want to miss our expert panels, virtual demos, interactive experiences and MUCH MORE! See our virtual FAME Week announcement.

Quarantine Film Festival 2020

We are kicking FAME Week off with our Quarantine Film Festival. This virtual film festival will bring out your inner creative energy and make you think outside (ahem, inside) of the box. Please see the guidelines for entering the 2020 Quarantine Film Festival. We can’t wait to see all your creativity! Submit your entry here.

Campus Alerts and Safety

With the health and safety of our employees, students and loved ones as our priority, we will remain online for all classes in August. All classes and instruction will continue to be offered online via our school Learning Management System (LMS), video communications and web collaboration platforms. We will continue to monitor our local, state and federal guidelines and look toward a time when we can begin our return to campus. Find more alerts here.

We’re in this together!
